Hidden Life
In this project, I have tried to somehow portray a part of women's problems when facing life in their surroundings, and the ups and downs they experience during their individual lives. A life in this geography that has always been full of transformation, complexity, change, experience, courage, and these days, a kind of dynamism and movement.
In this project, I tried to portray this empathy by using two feminine elements (comb and sock) and taking a metaphor from the meaning of these two words. For me, the use of combs somehow expresses feminine beauty and delicacy. A beauty that has been somehow hidden under the dust of problems and social contradictions over the years, and on the other hand, the breaking of the combs and their teeth is a kind of metaphor and perhaps an innuendo for ignoring, violence, inattention, etc... Also, the use of socks is very important in completing the meaning of this work, a sock in whose essence femininity and beauty are hidden.
In this work, by merging and mixing these two feminine elements and using them together, I have tried to express unspoken words that have been wrapped up for years, in detail and by using these metaphors.
